The Village
Upton Magna is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. ("Magna" means "great" in Latin, so the translation is "Great Upton.") Nearby are the villages of Uffington, Rodington and Withington, as well as the wooded Haughmond Hill. The nearest town is Shrewsbury, just 2.4 miles (3.9 km) to the west.
Upton Magna lies on the National Cycle Route 81 between Wellington and Shrewsbury.
The Memorial Hall
Managed by a Committee, the hall is separate from the Parish Council.
The hall has been refurbished to meet modern standards, funded with help from the National Lottery Community Fund. It can host parties, weddings, meetings, and talks, with competitive hire rates. The hall has an Entertainment Licence for up to 150 people and a licensed bar.
Single-floor accommodation with disabled access from the car park and an adjacent field for marquees and caravans.
The current hall replaced a timber building destroyed by fire in the past. A new hall was built in 1928 with funds from the Sundorne Estate as a memorial to villagers lost in WWI.
